I am planning on creating a recipe book with pages that include recipes for my favorite homemade dishes with pictures and instructions. I haven't completely decided on the dishes yet but so far, I am planning on having spinach spaghetti bolognese, lasagna, curry rice, frittata, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, pan pizza, and stir fry.
In terms of how the website looks, I am thinking about having either 3x3 grid on the homepage listing recipes or a slideshow that displays pictures of each dish (or both). For each individual recipe page, I want to list the ingredients, the recipe, an accompanying picture, as well as links/iframes to helpful resources such as YouTube videos for that recipe. I also have a number of links to W3Schools tutorials in the Current Trends that look interesting to me and that I may implement in this website.
My boyfriend and I have made a number of dishes this past year but we don't have a proper way to document these dishes. Through this project, I want to list some of our most-cooked recipes to reference in the future. Additionally, a lot of these recipes are pretty easy to execute and could be a good reference for anyone (such as college students) looking to create simple homecooked meals.
I also take a lot of photos of the food we make and I currently do not have anywhere to display them so I think this recipe book would be a great place to do so. Below I have photos of pulled pork sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, and stir fry.
The target audience for this website would be anyone who wants to learn how to cook relatively simple recipes. I think this could be a good resource for college students in particular as these ingredients are easy to find and not very expensive and the dishes are relatively healthy.
I have a number of ideas for incorporating JavaScript into this project. In the Current Trends section, I have quite a few links to W3Schools tutorials that I find interesting or that I want to play around with. I definitely want to do something JavaScript-related with the food pictures and possibly have a JavaScript checklist for each ingredient as well.
I will be working on this project by myself.
I am not necessarily sure I will be using GitHub to manage this project as I am not working with anyone else but I will be using GitHub to upload this completed project to Web Class.
