Hello! If you've reached this page, you're interested in knowing more about our Project Proposal for IST 276. You're in the right place.
What is our purpose here? Simple! We want to create a site dedicated to the bizarre, the unexpected, the delightful billboards that scatter over the land.
We are bombarded by advertisements every day of our lives. It's part of living in the modern age. One of the things that has always bothered me is that when you quote something really absurd that you see on a billboard, people invariably say 'You're making that up' or 'Surely you misread it'.
This site will seek to categorize, rate, and display some of the wackiest billboards out there. Hopefully some interested denizens of the wild world web will stop by to see what we have to offer. It's always nice to find a cool website to look at when you're bored.
We'll use Javascript to let us connect with our target audience in an engaging and friendly way
Joining me on this journey across America's wild roadside advertisements are Daniel Mitchell and Noel Hullfish!
We're going to use Github to work together and upload our files in a place that can be reached by all parties. It will also make editing our site easier. I'm really looking forwards to seeing what comes next!
Week 1: Main outline of the site should be complete, including overall design and color shceme
Week 2: Front page of the site should be completed, while other extra pages should be outlined and designed/styled
Week 3: Other pages should be finished including linked images
Week 4: Final revisions to the page overall including a final revision to any style or design elements that look out of place.
The first article we're looking at can help us with our javascript quandry. If we're going to include javascript in the project, we want it to be effective and useful- maybe even beautiful if we're using it for design!
LinkMuch like the above article, this article lets us have a fascinating look at the ways that designers have changed the CSS to demonstrate the power of CSS and how it affects the viewer's perception of the webpage. I love looking at the different designs.
