BEAR Day Events

Art Exhibition

During BEAR Day, student art was on display both within and around the Frances Sewell Plunkett Gallery of Hardman Hall. This year, such a large amount of art was submitted that some art was shown outside the main gallery. Students' photography and other two-dimensional art was shown upon the walls throghout the event. Animation work was additionally on display with flipbooks hung upon the gallery walls, as well as an in-gallery computer playing video animations.

Art Student Awards Ceremony

During the Art Student Awards Ceremony, students from each art category were given first place and second place awards, and one student's work received a "Best In Show" award. In painting, Stephanie Daube's"Untitled" won first place, while Bailey Noles's "Super Moon" earned second prize. Drawing awards were given to first place Karen Wessells's "Clear Eyes," as well as Josh Henderson's perspective art of the University Center hall, appropriately titled "University Center." In Graphic Design, Alexis Hill won first place with her poster "Don't Leave Me Alone," while Madison Allen's visual guide of typography earned second place. In photography, Sarah Pounds's Bridges" won first place, while Parth Patel's "Self Portrait" won second prize. Allie Turnbrough received first prize in the 3D category with her "Untitled" piece, while Natalie Wharton's "Black and Brown Bowl" earned second place. Ali Austin's submission, "Balance," won 2018's Best in Show award.
